Natural Features

Mount Olympus is the highest point in all of Greece, at 2 919m above sea level.

The 4 Mountains surrounding the area of Athens. They are Mount Aegaleo to the west, Mount Parnitha to the north, Mount Penteli to the north-east and Mount Hymettus to the East.

The Attica Coastline is surrounded by exotic beaches, where you can go swimming in the ocean most months of the year. Greeted by clear, blue waters, fine pebbles and the clean sand the beaches are probably the best place to visit while in Athens. 

Mount Lycabettus is the highest point in Athens (While mount Olympus is the highest in all of Greece). There are many refreshing features about this area, from breathing in the salty air to the rocky limestones to hiking through beautiful pine forests. 

Manmade Features

The Parthenon is dedicated to Athena, the wisdom Goddess. Coming to Athens just to visit the Parthenon alone is totally worth it. The construction cost 469 silver talents, but it is practically impossible to build a modern equivalent for this amount of money. 

Acropolis is the sacred rock on which the Parthenon sits upon. Nothing else compares to simply sitting there for hours, taking in its presence.

The New Acropolis Museum took many years to make. The use of the creative Greek light is the new Gem of Athens and is considered a masterpiece in itself. 

The National Archaeological Museum is one of the wealthiest museums in the history of Greek art. Some of its collections are from the prehistoric Greek age. A bronze statue of Poseidon is on display here also.
